Get Involved

SPEAK OUT! Email or write a letter to local and state politicians. Don’t be intimidated – these politicians work for you!

If you support continued protection of our mountain ridges your voice needs to be heard by the NC General Assembly which is scheduled to convene in May 2010. The bill is currently being reviewed by the House Energy and Energy Efficiency Committee. Using the form below you can state your position on this issue and send an email to the pertinent political officials. It is important that you get your friends and family involved to PROTECT OUR MOUNTAINS from commercial wind development.

Email or send a letter to newspaper editors around the state. They have the power to inform the public; however, the majority of these newspapers are wind energy advocates because they have been misled by false information from the Wind Industry. They must be informed of the research that proves wind energy is a failed technology.

Most newspapers require your name, full address, and daytime phone number with a letter (if your letter is published; only your name and town will be printed).

Issues to Address in Your Letters

  • Huge costs to the taxpayers
  • Tax credits to the Wind Developers
  • A failed technology that does not provide reliable energy
  • Lowered property values
  • Environmental destruction
  • Adverse effects on tourism and the local economy
  • Decreased quality of life for the community
  • Needless destruction of a NC Treasure

Feel free to use information from our “Wind Energy Faqs” page to help you write your letters.
